Problem
How do I change the daily, monthly or yearly rainfall totals in Virtual Weather Station?
?Solution
1.The daily, monthly and yearly rain totals are either calculated from your weather station or from Virtual Weather Station, depending on the type of weather station. If your station calculates these values, enter them directly in the console. If your station does not calculate these values, proceed to step 2.
2.Select Settings | Rainfall from the Virtual Weather Station menubar. Enter the appropriate values for daily, montly and yearly rain. If you receive the message Rain Exceeds Total Rain. To correct problem, enter an offset of equal or greater value in the Total Rain Field... , proceed to step 3.
3.The daily, monthly and yearly rain are calculated from the total rain. For example, the daily rain is calculated by subtracting the minimum total rain for the day from the maximum total rain for the day (or the difference in total rain for the day). If the daily, monthly or yearly rain exceeds the total rain for the day, Virtual Weather Station can not calculate these values. If your console allows you to change the total rain, enter this new value in the console (for example, enter a value equal to or greater then the yearly rain total). If your console can not be adjusted, change the total rain offset as described in step 4.
4.To change the total rainfall from Virtual Weather Station, select Settings | Calibration from the menubar and enter a bias in the total rain. For example, if the console total rain value is 10.00 inches, and you would like to change the total rainfall to 30.00 inches, enter an offset of 20.00 inches in this field. This change will have an immediate effect on the daily, montly and yearly rainfall totals. To correct these values, repeat step 2.
